    Partners for Peace Terms of Reference

    Purpose

    The vision of the Partners for Peace Network is sustainable peace in the Niger Delta to allow for economic and human development. The P4P Network will foster communication, information exchange and networking to increase capacity, increase effectiveness and identify, recognize and amplify the voices of peace actors and initiatives . The network will accomplish this through creating effective partnerships to build peace in the Niger Delta.

    Members

    Membership can be as an individual or group. Those seeking membership must apply and be approved by the CWC. During the application process the CWC will determine if the applicant is dedicated to the purpose and principles of the P4P network. Organizations that are explicitly partisan cannot be accepted as an organizational member . Different classes of membership will be defined and decided by the CWC. Members of the P4P Network are responsible to have regular participation in meetings, meet any financial obligations, abide by the Code of Conduct and Charter of the Network, be peacemakers in their communities and committed to building the skills, capacity and effectiveness of the P4P Network and its members. Non-fulfillment of member obligations will be dealt with according to the due process detailed in the rules and regulations of the P4P Network.

    Benefits of being a member of the network include; exposure to best practices in peacebuilding, exposure to opportunities for professional and skill development, personal and organizational satisfaction, access to attend peace workshops and seminars, networking with other peace actors and recognition as a peace advocate. Members will have ongoing and consistent access to all information regarding the activities, hiring and records of the Network.

    Partners for Peace, or P4P, is a network supported by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) whose mission is to build social capital around peacebuilding through amplifying the voices of positive actors, building a network of self-identified agents of peace, and leveraging that network through facilitation, small grants, and capacity building.
